5 Little Monsters: Crocheted Freezer Pop Holders- 2 Styles

Crocheted Freezer Pop Holders- 2 Styles

freezer pops in crocheted holders

Every summer my kids love to eat Otter Pops (or other similar freezer pops), and every summer I think about making some little crocheted holders to keep their hands from getting super cold, and every summer I don't get around to it. I usually end up just wrapping paper towels around the popsicle so they have something to hold onto, or just let them have cold hands.

This year I bought some freezer pops and decided it was time to finally make the little holders I thought about making every year. I decided on 2 different styles, both really plain and simple.

The first style is a pocket style holder. The bottom is closed so the freezer pop sits inside. This is the style I see most often both in crocheted, sewn, or store-bought holders.

The second style is a sleeve style holder. Both ends are open so they can slide it up and down the freezer pop. I wanted to try this style because I thought it would make it easier to use as you push the popsicle up as you eat. It is more similar to the way I often wrap the popsicles with a paper towel.

I think most of my kids prefer the sleeve style so that they can move it as they eat, but they both work well. These are a great way to use up leftover bits of cotton yarn. They hardly take any yarn so they are a great stash buster project.
