5 Little Monsters: Makers Gonna Make T-Shirt

Makers Gonna Make T-Shirt

Last month I had the opportunity to attend a blogger conference, I talked about it a little in my tiny crocheted owl post, but I had a couple more things I wanted to share about it. One of the things I did this year is make a couple of shirts to wear. Now, by make I don't mean I sewed them, I mean I bought a couple of cheap t-shirts from Walmart and decorated them with my Cricut. I thought I would share them here, along with the files I used to create them.

The shirt I am going to share today is my "Makers Gonna Make" shirt. This is actually the second shirt that I made, the first I will share soon, but it was to go along with a party theme. This one I was going to wear all day one of the conference days so I wanted something that I felt kind of represented me as a crafter/maker/designer. I had seen lots of maker's gonna make shirts and things online, or crafter's gonna craft, or sewers gonna sew, etc. I decided to make my own version of that.

I designed the Makers Gonna Make part outside of Design Space and uploaded it. Then I also found a crochet hook that I uploaded (it actually came from my blog logo), and last I used images in Design Space to create the ball of yarn.

Because of how I pieced everything together I am only going to share the word portion of the design. I can't share the design space file because when you upload your own designs you can't save it as public, and some of the elements came from design space so I can't share them outside Design Space. So unfortunately I can't share the entire design. The nice part is, there are lots of types of makers, not just crocheters so more people can use it without the crochet stuff. You can use it on a shirt like I did, or on a bag, or it would make a cute sign to hang in a craft room.

One of my favorite parts about my shirt was that I used Cricut patterned iron on for the yarn. It was a watercolor wash pattern in aquas, blues, and greens, my favorite colors. It totally reminded me of Red Heart Unforgettable in Tidal and I happened to have a little ball of it leftover from another project.

Get the "Makers Gonna Make" file HERE

It is a .png file with a transparent background so it should be easy to upload to design space or to print or use however you would like.
