5 Little Monsters: Gift Box- Mini Amigurumi Advent Day 21

Gift Box- Mini Amigurumi Advent Day 21

It is Day 21 of the Mini Amigurumi Advent, and the project for today is a little wrapped gift box with a big red bow on top.

The little gift is made in a two pieces, the bottom of the box and the lid. Then it is wrapped with a big bow made of strips of single crochet. It is crocheted in rounds of single crochet like all of the projects in the series, but in a square rather than a circle.

Just like the other projects in the series I added a little smiling face to the box with safety eyes and an embroidered mouth. Obviously on projects like this one the face is completely optional, but it sure is cute. I chose to use a light teal color for the gift with a red ribbon, I originally thought or doing a red present with a green or yellow bow, but there is already a lot of red and green in 20 projects I have done so far and I wanted something a little different, but still Christmasy. This is one of those projects that you could do in any colors you want. Go with traditional Christmas colors if you want, or choose something a little less traditional.

How to Crochet an Amigurumi Gift Box

Finished size: 3" across

You will need:

Instructions:

The gift box is made in 2 pieces, the ornament, and the lid, both made beginning with a magic ring. In this pattern you will join your rounds rather than crocheting in a spiral like the rest of the patterns.

To make the square shape the increases are made by working 3 single crochet stitches into each corner of the increase rounds.

The ribbon/bow is made in 4 pieces, 1 to wrap around the box, and 3 to make the bow.
