5 Little Monsters: Friday Five: 5 Shirts for Back to School

Friday Five: 5 Shirts for Back to School

It is time for another Friday Five. This week is the last one before my kids go back to school and it has been a really busy and exhausting week. I didn't get any of the other posts up that I had planned for this week and almost didn't even do this one, but I didn't want to miss a Friday when this is only the third week so I am getting it done. Since my kids are heading back to school next week I thought it would be fun to have this weeks theme be related to kids going back to school- specifically:

Back to School Shirts

My kids are getting a little bit older so I haven't been making as many shirts for them recently, sometimes they still want something specific- for a dress up day or specific event or occasion. So I thought for today's Friday Five we would take a little stroll down memory lane and see some of the cute school/learning/reading themed shirts I made for my kids when they were younger. All of these shirts were made using my Cricut.

1- Infusible Ink Unicorn Shirts

The first one on the list is actually one of two shirts that I made in this post. One of them doesn't really have anything to do with back to school, other than the fact that my daughter was obsessed with all things unicorn at this point so I made her unicorn shirts as part of her back to school clothes, but the other one is a unicorn head that says "a unicorn ate my homework". Both of them were made with fun rainbow colored infusible ink.

2- Learning is my Superpower

The second shirt is a superhero themed school shirt. It says "Learning is my Superpower" with a superhero mask and a shiny lightning bolt made with holographic iron on.

3- Smart is the New Cool

Shirt number 3 says "Smart is the new Cool". It has a little pair of glasses on it along with fun fonts. I used pink and purple for my daughter, but you could use any combination of colors, or even just one solid color.

4- School Spirit Shirts

This one is a little different because it is more of a tutorial than a specific design. If you have ever wanted to make school spirit shirts to support your kids at sporting events or other school functions this post has lots of font suggestions, design suggestions, shirts, iron on options, etc. Use your school colors, name, and mascot to make fun personalized shirts to support your team.

5- Shirts for Readers

For the last shirt I didn't really have any other school specific shirts, but I did have these shirts that I made for my daughter who loves to read. I figured that even though it isn't exactly back to school themed it is school adjacent in a way so I am including it. I used sweatshirts instead of t-shirts for these ones but you could obviously use any shirt you want, but I feel like a cozy sweatshirt with a good book is a pretty great combination.

It is kind of fun to look back at things I made for my kids when they were little. Seeing pictures of my middle school aged girls when they were just starting school is crazy. Time sure does fly! I love being able to make things for my kids and making things like these shirts is so easy to do. I hope you enjoyed these back to school shirt ideas.

Come back next week for a new theme and another 5 projects. Leave a comment if there is a theme you would like to see!
