I haven't done a Friday Five yet this year, the first Friday I think I just didn't get one up, and then last Friday I was in the middle of the Bitty Blizzard Crochet Along so I skipped that one. If you are new to my blog and aren't familiar with Friday Fives, they are a way for me to reshare some older projects. Each week, or I guess most weeks is more accurate, I will share 5 projects that all fit a specific theme. It may be a holiday, project type, craft type, a specific stitch, or something else that all of the patterns have in common. I have been blogging for more than 10 years so I have so many projects and patterns and last year I realized that there were a lot that I had completely forgotten about, but that I still love and wanted to find a way to reshare them. This week I decided that with Valentine's Day just around the corner I would share 5 crochet projects you can make for Valentine's Day.
Valentine's Day Crochet Projects
I definitely have more than 5 Valentine's Day crochet projects on my blog, so I tried to chose a variety of different kinds of projects. Here are the 5 projects that I chose to include- some are fairly recent projects and others date back to the very beginning of my blog.
1- ASL Crocheted Valentine
I had to include this little ASL I Love You Valentine because it is probably my favorite Valentine crochet project. ASL is important to me because 3 of my 6 children are deaf so it is the language I use to communicate with them. So I made this little ASL I Love You hand in honor of them.
2- Drawstring Treat Bags
These little drawstring treat bags could be made for any occasion, they don't have to be a Valentine project. But when I made them in was around Valentine's Day and I chose pink and red in order to make more Valentine-ish. They are fairly small, so just the right size for a little treat, whether for Valentine's Day or any other time.
3- Bobble Heart Dishcloth
The Bobble Heart Dishcloth is one of a set of 4 Valentine's dishcloths I made way back when I first started my blog. The bobble heart is a very simple bobble design, but perfect for February.
4- Colorwork Hearts Pillow
Next up I decided to include a home decor project, the Colorwork Hearts Pillow. This pillow is a simple single crochet graph (and written) pattern. It uses 2 colors carried throughout the pattern to make a grid of 9 hearts.
5- Pocket Size Puffy Hearts
Last I decided to include this set of Pocket Size Puffy Hearts. The patten includes 2 different shapes of hearts. One a little longer and skinnier, the other a little chunkier. You can add a face for a cute little heart, or leave it plain.
I hope you enjoy these Valentine projects. For the most part they are pretty quick and easy projects that you could make pretty fast. I will share more Valentines themed Friday Fives over the next few weeks as well as some new Valentines projects too.
