5 Little Monsters: 5 Little Monsters Top Ten Posts from 2018

5 Little Monsters Top Ten Posts from 2018

Another year is over which means it is time for my yearly top ten post. Each year I like to go back and look over the projects I have shared over the past year and see which were the most popular posts. These are the top ten most popular posts that I published in 2018, it doesn't include popular patterns from years past. I also am only including project posts, no roundups or things like that.

Counting down from number 10 to number 1, here are the most popular posts of the year.

5 Little Monsters Top 10 of 2018

10- Be-You-Tiful Hot Mess Canvas

This one is the only non-crochet project that made my top ten. Hot mess canvases were pretty popular this year and this was a fun one to make. It now hangs above my 10 year old daughter's desk.

9- Colorblock Trinity Stitch Dishcloths

Dishcloths and washcloths are always pretty popular patterns on my blog. These bright colored dishcloths have a great texture, perfect for scrubbing.

8- Blush Baby Bonnet

This was a different project for me. I have made lots of baby hats but this was my first bonnet pattern. I thought a delicate little bonnet was the perfect project for the cotton baby yarn and I loved the way it turned out. It seems a lot of you did too so maybe there will be more baby bonnets in the future.

7- Cotton Face Scrubbies

I was a little surprised that this made the list only because it is so new. I shared it earlier this month as part of my 12 Days of Crocheted Stocking Stuffers Series. They are a great quick project, and a great way to use up small amounts of cotton yarn.

6- Loom Knit Baby Bear Hats

I did a couple of baby hat embellishment posts, the first was these little bear hats. You can take a simple loom knit hat, crocheted hat, or knit hat, and just add some ears and faces to turn them into cute little baby bears.

5- Child Size Bead Stitch Hats

The child size version of my bead stitch hats came up number 5. The bead stitch projects were some of my most popular projects of the whole year.

4- Striped Pen Pouch

Pen or pencil pouches are great for back to school time, or anytime you need a pouch to hold things. This striped version was a new pattern this year and it came in at number 4.

3- Dinosaur Softie

I made this project as part of a softie crochet-a-long. It is probably one of my favorite stuffed animals I have made, but I have loved dinosaurs since I was a little kid. This crochet-a-long will be back next year and I am excited to participate again.

2- Bead Stitch Cowl

The second bead stitch pattern to be on the top 10 list is the bead stitch cowl. When I made these patterns I also made videos to show how to make the stitches used, the bead stitch and the half double crochet in the third loop. These two video posts also ranked high on the list of posts for the year but since they were videos instead of specific projects I did not include them.

1- Bead Stitch Hat

And now for the number one post of the year, The Bead Stitch Hat. Not only has this been my most popular post of the year, it is quickly becoming my most popular pattern ever. This is my favorite hat I have ever made, I love the texture of the stitches, and I love that you all seem to love it too. I have seen so many bead stitch hats shared on Facebook and Instagram and I love seeing every one of them.  I recently made a full video tutorial for this pattern because I had so many requests for a full tutorial in addition to the stitch videos.

2018 was a pretty good year and I am really excited to see what 2019 brings. I already have some projects finished and ready to share and others in the planning stages. Thank you to everyone who follows me and uses my patterns. I love being able to share my creations, and then see the things you make using my patterns.

Thanks for a great year! Here's to a great 2019.
