5 Little Monsters: About Me

About Me

My name is Erica and I am the person behind this blog. I am married to a wonderful man, Jake, and we have five young children (the inspiration behind the name of the blog). Jake blogs at thegeekymormon.com where I occasionally guest post and share geek crafts. We live in Utah and are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I mention that because a. it is a very important part of my life and a big part of who I am and b. because some of the things I make may be LDS themed. I love making things and am excited to have a little spot to share my ideas and creations with you. You will most likely see a lot of crochet projects and patterns here along with some sewing and occasionally other types of crafts.

Keep reading to meet my little monsters who, along with my husband, are the inspiration for many of the things that I make.

Meet the Monsters

Monster #1 is 7 years old and in 2nd grade. He loves animals and says he wants to be a zoo dentist when he grows up, or a teacher, or a chef, luckily he still has plenty of time to figure that out. He likes to play on the computer or iPad. He is deaf and uses American Sign Language to communicate. He loves school and learning things. He is our question asker.

Monster #2 is our first little princess. She is almost 6 years old and is starting 1st grade. She is a little girly girl who loves to dress up and paint her nails but she is also a little daredevil who is not afraid of anything. She has a great imagination, it is always fun to listen to her playing with her toys because there is always a story being played out. She is also deaf and uses ASL but she also loves to talk. She loves to be with her friends and make friends wherever she goes.

Monster #3, boy #2. He is 4 years old and loves Skylanders, Lego games, Superheroes, Ninja Turtles, etc. and he can tell you pretty much anything you could ever want to know about any of those things. He can be a stubborn little guy but he also has a very loving, sweet side.

Monster #4 is the silliest, sweetest 2 year old around. She loves nothing more than to make people smile and laugh. She has a very happy, playful personality and thinks everyone she meets is her new best friend. She is also deaf and learning to sign.

Last but not least is monster #5, the baby of our family, although she isn't so much of a baby anymore. She is almost 1 1/2. She has the cutest big grin but it is hard to catch on camera. As a baby she always had the most serious look on her face and she often still does, like she is still trying to figure out this crazy family that she ended up in. One of her favorite things in the world is when Daddy comes home from work or when he reads books to her.

    2. I enjoyed reading your story about your family. My husband said if it was me writing I would be calling it 5 little angels. They are cuties and I'm sure dearly loved. Have a wonderful day and lots of fun inventing things for your little ones. Mine are 50 and 46 years old so it's all about my grands now and it is wonderful to say the least.
