It is Day 4 of the Book Inspired Craft Week, and today I am choosing a book from my very favorite genres when I was a kid. And this book was one of my favorites, it is called Snow Treasure.

It is Day 3 of my Book Inspired Craft Week. When I am trying to decided on books to include I try to think of books that have some significance to me or someone in my family. Books I loved as a kid, books I read to my kids when they were little, books that my kids have loved as they have gotten older, etc. The book I chose for today kind of fits in a couple of those areas.

For Day 2 of my Book Inspired Craft Week I chose a picture book that I remember my mom reading to us when I was little. Because of that this book always makes me think of her. The book I chose for today's craft is Miss Rumphius.

Last year around the beginning of March I decided to do a week of Book Inspired Crafts. I chose that time to coincide with Read Across America Week and Dr. Suess's Birthday when a lot of schools around the country are doing read-a-thons and other reading based activities. I have always loved reading and this was a fun way to combine 2 of my hobbies into one fun project. I enjoyed it so much I decided to make it an annual thing, which means it is time for the second annual Book Inspired Craft Week!

If you follow me on Instagram you will have seen me share the new embroidery kits that Missouri Star Quilt Company released this month. They sent me 2 different kits, one a learn to embroider kit, and the other more of a project kit. They are both really beautiful kits but for this project I am using the Beginner kit.

It has been a while since I have posted a dishcloth pattern and the past couple of crochet patterns that I have posted have had me thinking about dishcloth patterns, because they have used stitches that I had previously used in a dishcloth. The Mossy Blocks Scarf used the same stitch pattern as the Mossy Blocks Dishcloth from last year, and the Criss Cross Confetti Hat used the same stitch pattern as my Crossed Doubles Dishcloth

I have been meaning to make a share this project for quite a while but life has been busy and I just haven't been able to get as much posted as I would like. As a result this may look like kind of a weird project to be sharing on Valentine's Day, because it looks like a Valentine's project so it is a little late to be sharing. However, although I made mine with Valentine fabric it isn't really a holiday specific project and you could make it in any color scheme, for any holiday, to match your kitchen or whatever room you are using it in, or just using a charm pack that you like the colors of.

Last year I shared a dishcloth pattern that I called the Mossy Blocks Dishcloth because the stitch pattern kind of made me think of a cross between the moss stitch and a granny stitch or block stitch. Instead of one single crochet, one chain, with the single crochets worked in the chain spaces like with the actual moss stitch (or linen stitch, woven stitch, granite stitch, or whatever name you like to use), this stitch is made by working 2 single crochet stitches, one chain, with the single crochets worked in the chain spaces.

I have one last printable Valentine set to share before Valentine's Day, joining the car themed set and the dinosaur themed set. This time the item that inspired the cards was a little set of Valentine notebooks.
