Christmas Cards with Cricut

I have wanted to try out Cricut's new watercolor markers and opaque gel pens since I first saw them, and I thought that making some Christmas cards was the perfect opportunity to finally give them a try.

Cricut Cutaway Cards

One of my favorite things about the Cricut Joy is how easy it is to make cards for any occasion. When Cricut Joy first came out insert cards came out at the same time. I thought they were a really neat way to make cards, mostly because I'm not a huge paper crafter.  I enjoy simple paper projects, but I am not the place to come for amazing, complex cards that use lots of different techniques. If is is beyond gluing a couple of pieces of paper together it is probably not for me.

Days Until Christmas Chalkboard

A few weeks ago I was at a store looking at the Christmas decorations that they had out and I saw a little easel style Christmas countdown chalkboard. It was really simple but I thought it was cute. Then later I was at Walmart and saw some similar size/style chalkboards in their craft section and decided to get one so I could make a countdown chalkboard similar to the one that I had seen earlier.

I have been wanting to try out the Cricut Foil Transfer Tool ever since they first came out quite a while ago, and I finally got one. There are two different versions, the first one that came out worked in the Maker and Explore machines, but it was not compatible with the Joy. Then they came out with a Cricut Joy version that works only with the Joy and that is the one that I got.

Easy Valentine Treats and Tags

My 12 year old daughter was asked to teach a zoom class to some other girls her age teaching them how to make a treat of some kind. With Valentine's Day coming up she wanted to make a Valentine's treat. She ended up coming up with the idea of dipping Rice Krispie Treats in chocolate and decorating them with pink and red sprinkles. They turned out pretty cute and I thought they would be a fun little treat to give to friends so I thought I would make some easy little tags and share how we made them.

Make Your Own Card Inserts for Cricut Joy

One of my favorite things about my Cricut Joy is how easy it is to make cards. I was never a big card maker before, or a paper crafter of any kind. I hated trying to glue little pieces on an not having it look messy. So when I first saw the Cricut Joy Insert Cards I thought they were great.

Pick Your Own Pumpkin Bucket

This summer my mom picked up a couple of these square galvanized buckets for me on clearance thinking they would work well for a project. They are actually ice buckets/beverage dispenser stands, but really any similar sized pocket would work for this project, even a wooden box. Anyway, when she gave them to me I immediately knew what I wanted to do with one of them and I have been waiting for the right season to make it.

Easy Cupcake Toppers with Adhesive Paper

One of the fun things about the Cricut Joy is the new materials that came out along with it. One of the new materials is Adhesive backed paper. It is a heavy weight paper that has adhesive on the back so you don't need tape or glue. It comes in lots of pretty colors and prints, each pack has 5 different designs.

I have kind of been a little MIA lately, mostly because doing online school with 5 kids in 3 schools with multiple teachers, platforms and expectations has kind of been kicking my butt. My kids are done with school this week and we have turned in most of their stuff already, all we have left is teacher parades and online awards ceremonies so as far as I'm concerned, we made it! And I couldn't be happier about that.
