I have been looking forward to today for a while, it is Day 1 of the Fall 2023 Mini Amigurumi Crochet Along. This is my third Mini Amigurumi Crochet Along of the Year. First we had Spring version which which was a farm animal theme. Then the Summer version with a camping theme, and now the fall version which is a Halloween theme.

As I am sure anyone who has been following me for any length of time already knows, I love fall, I love pumpkins, and I love playing with the textures of crochet stitches. Put all of those together and one of my favorite things to crochet in the fall is pumpkins. I have lots of patterns already on my website, some using very basic stitches, and others that use stitches that create really interesting textures. And I am always thinking of new stitches that I think would be fun to try on a pumpkin.

It is time again for another Team Creative Crafts Collaboration, and not surprisingly the theme this month is pumpkins. I have been in a fall/pumpkin crafting mood lately so this was a perfect theme for me.

I am not a huge pumpkin fan when it comes to foods and/or drinks, but when it comes to fall decor I do love them. And with the arrival of September comes pumpkin season in my mind. One reason I like pumpkins is that they work so well from September through November. From general fall decor, through to Halloween, and Thanksgiving.

As I was crocheting pumpkins this year I thought it would be fun to mix it up a little and make some that were 2 colors rather than 1. Most of the time I choose more muted shades or fall colors to make my pumpkins, but this time I decided to go with more of a Halloween theme, bright orange, black, and white.

Pick Your Own Pumpkin Bucket

This summer my mom picked up a couple of these square galvanized buckets for me on clearance thinking they would work well for a project. They are actually ice buckets/beverage dispenser stands, but really any similar sized pocket would work for this project, even a wooden box. Anyway, when she gave them to me I immediately knew what I wanted to do with one of them and I have been waiting for the right season to make it.

 One of my favorite things about crochet is all of the different textures you can create with the stitches. I have made a few different types of crocheted or other yarn pumpkins over the time I have had my blog, in fact one of my first patterns was a crocheted pumpkin. For a while now I have been wanting to combine those two things, crocheted pumpkins, and textured stitches to create some more pumpkins and I finally did it. 

Loom Knit Pumpkins

 I have made a few different kinds of crocheted and yarn pumpkins over the years but this one doesn't require any knit or crochet skills and you still end up with a cute little knit-look pumpkin. These pumpkins are made on a hat loom.

I have shared a roundup of Halloween crochet and of Halloween Cricut projects, but today I wanted to share all of the pumpkin patterns I have on my site. I am not including any Jack O Lantern crafts, only plain pumpkins that can be used to decorate all throughout the fall, even after Halloween. These all work great for Thanksgiving too. I shared a baby set a couple weeks ago that was made with a navy bodysuit, it came in a pack with a few other colors including an orange one. I knew right away that I wanted to use it to make a Halloween themed onesie. I thought about a cute Halloween saying or something but ended up deciding to just make a basic Jack-o'-lantern face.

October is probably my favorite month of the year. It happens to be my birthday month but that isn't the only reason I love it. First of all, I love the fall. It is my favorite season. I love the cooler weather, the changing colors of the leaves, and I love the fact that it is the beginning of the holiday season. I love the excitement of Halloween, followed by Thanksgiving and Christmas. Plus it is crochet season, time to make warm, cozy hats and scarves for everyone.

Pumpkin Patch T-Shirt and Corn Maze Ticket Giveaway
