Los Colores Circle Scarf

I have very mixed feelings about variegated yarns, especially those with really short color changes. They can be so pretty on the skein, but they can be hard to make look good in a project. I think they are better when knitting but the nature of crochet stitches can make them look like a bunch of colors just threw up on your project. It can be hard to see the stitches or the stitch pattern and just kind of look like a mess.

I have had this hat pattern ready to post for a long time but life has been so crazy lately I haven't gotten it up. I debated whether or not to post it now since it is spring here and the weather is starting to warm up, not really hat weather anymore. But then I figured a lot of us are stuck inside right now, what better than a new crochet project. Make a bunch now and you will be all set for winter, whether for yourself, family, gifts, sales, or whatever.

Time for another hat pattern. I haven't been as quick at getting these up as I had hoped but this is the 3rd hat in the Variegated Yarn Friendly hat patterns. These are patterns that work well for using up that variegated yarn that you have in your stash that looked pretty in the skein when you bought it, but doesn't work up quite as well as you had hoped, or maybe you bought it for a specific project and have some leftover that you want to use up.

Have you ever been sucked in by the pretty colors in a skein of variegated yarn, buy it and bring it home and wonder what you were thinking. You try a bunch of different stitches and/or patterns only to have everything you try look terrible? The colors pool in weird ways, or all of the colors look really busy and you can't see the stitch definition?
