A few weeks ago I made a set of dishcloths with some Red Heart Scrubby Smoothie in yellow, orange, and pink. After I finished I still had probably about a half a skein of each color left. The colors reminded me of bright, sunny, summer days so I decided what better to make then a little smiling sun.

We like to walk over to the park near our house for lunch and I usually try to bring a little project to work on as the kids play. This was a perfect little project to bring with me. It is small and simple enough that it didn't take long at all to make.

It is basically just a couple of circles stitched together with a pointy border around the outside. You could leave it plain but I thought a little smiley face would be cute so I added safety eyes and stitched on a mouth.
