5 Little Monsters: Floral Workout Gear

Floral Workout Gear

It is that time of year when everyone is setting goals and making resolutions. I love this time of year because I enjoy both reflecting back on the past year, and also setting goals for what I would like to accomplish over the new year.

I know that a lot of people set physical goals at the beginning of the year, whether that involves eating better, exercising more, drinking more water, or other things to

So with that in mind I wanted to use my Cricut to make some workout clothes and accessories. SportFlex Iron on is perfect for projects like this because it is made to work on stretchy athletic type fabrics. I recently made a couple of shirts for my husband using it and found it worked so great that I wanted to use it for a blog project and figured this would be the perfect time.

I wanted to come up with a design that was simple and feminine but also had an encouraging or inspirational element. I found a simple floral design in Design Space and combined that with some text for the shirt. Then I took just a couple of the floral elements to make a design to put on the pocket of the pants. I also used the same floral design with a different phrase to a yoga mat. I used gold Sportflex for all of them.

How to Make Floral Workout Gear with Cricut SportFlex Iron On

You will need:

Instructions:

Open Cricut Design Space file Floral Workout Gear, or create your own designs.

Measure your shirt, pants, and/or other items to determine the size you need and resize the designs as needed to fit.

The leggings I used had pockets on the thighs so I chose to add my floral design to the pockets. You could also add it to the hip/thigh, or add a design around the ankle.  For the shirt I just added a design in the normal place across the chest, and the yoga mat I just put it along the bottom edge.

Cut out the designs. Don't forget to mirror your designs. I found it the SportFlex a little difficult to stick to the mat so I would recommend a sticky mat and a brayer to help stick it down really well.

Weed the designs.

Use the heat guide to determine the appropriate time and temperature for the materials you are using. I pressed my shirt and pants at 305 degrees for 30 seconds. For the yoga mat I pressed it at 280 for 20 seconds, and I made sure that the mat didn't actually touch the metal of the press.

Peel off liner and enjoy your new workout gear.
