Day 2 of my birthday week projects and giveaways is here, and it is a fall crochet project and a fall crochet giveaway as well. I love fall, it is my favorite season, and not just because my birthday is in the fall. I love the cooler temperatures, the holidays, the decorations, the smells, and I love the colors of fall.
I have had a scarf idea in my mind for a while, and I knew I wanted some kind of long color changing/striping yarn to make it. I have so much yarn at home but I didn't have anything that was what I had in mind for this project. Then I went into Micheals one day while my husband was getting his hair cut next door, with no intention of buying anything, and I saw a purple and gold Caron Cakes Skinny Cake. I thought it was perfect for the fall scarf pattern I was envisioning, the right weight and the perfect colors. I bought it and immediately started working on the scarf I had in mind. Some things changed a little as I worked on it, but this is my finished scarf.
This scarf is a long, skinny, triangle shawl style scarf. A triangle scarf has been on my list for a while and it was fun to finally sit down and make it. The light weight (#3) yarn makes it not super heavy even though it is a lot of scarf, it is super nice and cozy.

How to Crochet the Fall Triangle Scarf
You will need:
- 1 ball Caron Skinny Cakes in Plum Pudding
- H crochet hook
- yarn needle
- scissors
Instructions:
*At the beginning of each row a ch1 is used to turn, this does not count as a stitch. Using only one turning chain instead of 2 makes the edges nice and straight but you will want to make that chain kind of loose, pull your hook up a little before making that ch 1, then turn and work the stitches in the row.
Increases and decreases are made at the beginning of every other row and always on the same side, this gives you one straight side and one pointed side.
Special Stitches:
Puff Stitch: yo, insert in st and pull up a loop, yo, insert in st and pull up a loop, yo, insert in st and pull up a loop, yo, insert in st and pull up a loop, yo, pull through all 9 loops on hook
