Today is Day 9 of the Spring Mini Amigurumi Crochet Along, three quarters of the way done, and today's animal is a little dog.

This is another, like the cat, that my 6 year old questioned me including in a set of farm animals since in his mind it falls more in the pet category, but I stand by my decision for a couple of reasons. One, I think it is pretty common to find a dog on a farm, whether it is a working dog or just a family pet. And second, coming up with 12 farm animals was more challenging than I thought it would be when I first came up with the idea. There were several animals that were for sure going to be included, horse, cow, pig, sheep, chicken, etc., but by the time I got to the last few animals I felt like I had to reach a little more.

The little dog is the same size as all of the other animals, I made it in a light tan color with floppy ears, but there are lots of different colors you could do.

I also added a little collar and tag, and to be honest I am a little unsure about that part. You can add the collar and tag, or just the collar, or leave it off completely. I thought the collar would be cute and add something a little different than any of the other animals have, but I feel like it kind of looks like the dog won a gold medal so I don't know that I love it. But like I said, you can add it or leave it off, whatever you want.
