5 Little Monsters: Good Vibes Only Hat with Cricut EasyPress Mini

Good Vibes Only Hat with Cricut EasyPress Mini

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Cricut. The opinions and text are all mine.

I recently received a new EasyPress Mini and I was excited to be able to try it out. I have the full set of EasyPress 2, the small 6"x7", the medium 9"x9", and the large 12"x10". The Mini completes the set and is great for smaller or odd shaped projects.

I know I have made things before that because of the shape or size it was hard to maneuver the press into the right place. One example would be stuffed animals, like the birth announcement elephants, trying to get even the smallest press in the right place without seams or the stuffed head getting in the way. The small size and shape of this mini version makes those types of projects easier.

One project I have never tried because I thought it would be too hard to press is a hat. I figured this was a good chance to give it a try.

My oldest daughter asked me to create a design to use on a sweatshirt, which I may share at a later time, she had a very specific idea in mind. As I was making it I thought it would also work for a hat with a couple small changes. The larger shirt version is multiple colors but for the hat I decided to keep it simple with one color.

It was definitely so much easier with the Mini, I can't imagine trying to maneuver even the smaller EasyPress to fit on the front of the hat. I definitely think it will make a lot of projects easier, not to mention it is so tiny that it would be perfect for keeping next to your sewing machine for pressing seams too.

How to Make a Good Vibes Only Hat

You will need:

Cut out of iron on, don't forget to mirror.

Heat the EasyPress to the medium setting.

I folded my small EasyPress Mat and stuck it inside of the hat. Run the press over the area you will apply the decal to preheat.

Place the decal where you want and press for about 25 seconds, moving the EasyPress and using light pressure. Repeat across the decal until you have pressed the entire thing.

Peel off the plastic protective sheet and your hat is ready to wear.
