5 Little Monsters: Girl Elf- Mini Amigurumi Advent Day 14

Girl Elf- Mini Amigurumi Advent Day 14

A few days ago the Mini Amigurumi Advent was a little boy elf and today, Day 14 is a little girl elf. You may have already guessed that there would be a girl elf, I felt like specifying that the other elf was a boy, rather than just an elf, kind of gave away there was going to be a girl too.

The little girl elf is made almost identical to the boy, with just a couple of little changes.

First, the boy elf was wearing a little shirt and the girl has a dress on, however the skirt on the dress and the bottom edge of the shirt are worked in the same way, just with different stitch counts.

The other major change in the pattern is the hair. Because they both have a hat covering most of their heads I didn't want to make a full hair cap, so they just have a little bit of hair sticking out from under their hats. For the boy I made a few little curls sticking out in front. For the girl I gave her some bangs in the front made from 2 shell stitches, and then 2 little curly pigtails sticking out on the sides.

The other big change that I made was to reverse the colors so they were matching but opposite. I chose to stick with red and green for super traditional Christmas colors, so I switched them between the two. The little boy being in a green top with red pants, and the girl in a red top with green pants, as well as the colors on their hats being flipped. You could totally make them matching, or go with completely different colors, whatever you choose.

How to Crochet a Girl Elf Amigurumi

Finished Size: about 6" tall + hat

You will need:

Instructions:

The elf body and head are made in one piece, with arms, legs, hat, belt, and hair made separately and sewn on after.

The skirt is crocheted directly onto the body. One round on the body is worked in the back loop only, leaving the front loops open. The skirt will be worked into those open loops.

Wrap the belt around the waist and stitch in place

Use yellow/gold yarn to stitch a square around the front of the belt to make the buckle

Hair

The hair for the girl elf is made in two parts, she doesn't have hair under her hat because I didn't want to have too many layers under there, instead it is just bangs tucked under the front edge of the hat, and little curly pigtails sticking out on each side.

You will make one bangs piece and 2 pigtails

Switch to green (or hat band color)

Rounds 16-17: 1 sc in each st (24 sc)

Finish off and cut yarn, leaving long tail for sewing

Stitch the bangs into place so they sit with the shells edge just above the eyes

Pull the hat on over the head so it covers the top edge of the bangs (you can put the hat on, then tuck the bangs under to determine placement before stitching everything on if that helps make sure everything is in the right place)

Stitch the hat onto the head

Stitch a curly pigtail to each side of the head close to the edge of the hat
