Today is Day 4 of the Summer Cookout Mini Amigururmi Crochet Along and today we are switching it up just a little bit and instead of food we are making a drink. Today's mini amigurumi is a Small Soda.

I know there are lots of ways I could have made soda, cans, bottles, cups, but I decided to go with cans. The colorful little cans have a smiley face just like the other mini amigurumi in the set, and a little pop tab on the top.

This is another one that you can make in literally any color you want, to represent whatever flavor of soda you want. For some reason when I think of sodas at a summer cookout I think of a cooler full of ice and fruity flavored sodas or root beer, so I decided to make mine to represent a lemon-lime soda and an orange soda.

I started out making a lemon lime soda. I thought a bright green would add a fun pop of color to what was in the set so far, but I wanted to add some yellow too. I decided a stripe would be the easiest way to add a second color, so for the lemon-lime I made a striped can. I think that would also work well for other flavors, like red with a white stripe for a coke can. But I also wanted to show that you could just use a solid color so I made an orange can for an orange soda too.

Whether you decide to use one color for your can label or two, this is a really quick amigurumi to make. The can is made in all one piece, the only other piece you need to make and sew on is the tab. I used Red Heart Super Saver in Light Gray for the can part of both cans, and Red Heart Super Saver in Spring Green, Bright Yellow, and Pumpkin for the label colors.

Come back tomorrow to see what Day 5 will bring to the Summer Cookout!
