5 Little Monsters: Friday Five: 5 More Crocheted Pumpkins

Friday Five: 5 More Crocheted Pumpkins

Today is Friday, which means that in addition to today's Bewitching Bears pattern that will be released today, it is also time for another Friday Five- and with this one I mentioned a couple of weeks ago what the theme would be. Two weeks ago I shared 5 crocheted pumpkins and mentioned I would be doing a part 2 in a couple of weeks with 5 More Crocheted Pumpkins- so that is the theme for today.

More Crocheted Pumpkins

As I said a couple of weeks ago on think that I love to make for fall is crocheted pumpkins. I especially love making textured pumpkins with different stitches. That is the case with most of the pumpkins on this list. If you missed the last 5 pumpkins be sure to check those out but here are this weeks Friday Five:

1- Alpine Stitch Pumpkins

The alpine stitch uses post stitches to give it a lot of texture so these pumpkins are heavily textured. They are made in a tube that is cinched at the top and bottom to create the pumpkin. A cinnamon stick for the stem is the perfect finishing touch.

2- Crocheted Pumpkin with Bulky Yarn

This is the only pumpkin on the list that is not made with textured stitches, but instead is made amigurumi style. The thing that makes this one unique is that it is made with bulky weight yarn. This changes up the look of the pumpkin, but it also means the pumpkin works up faster and ends up bigger than if it was made with thinner yarn.

3- Bloque Stitch Pumpkins

Next up is the Bloque stitch pumpkin, made in the same way as the alpine stitch pumpkin. The bloque stitch is an interesting stitch that is worked into a previous round to give the stitches an interlocked look. This makes it a good choice if you want to use a multicolor yarn, but it works great with solids too.

4- Stripe and Polka Dot Pumpkins

Next up is the Stripe and Polka Dot Pumpkins. These ones are made by working rows back and forth to make a long rectangle. I used Halloween colors for this set but you could use any colors you want. I think they would look really neat in neutral colors like cream and tan, or a neutral combined with a pretty fall orange, or whatever other color combination you can think of.

5- Trinity Stitch Pumpkins- 2 Ways

This last pattern on the list is my newest crochet pumpkin pattern, shared for the first time just a couple of weeks ago. This pattern includes pumpkins made with the trinity stitch worked both in the round and in rows. This gives two completely different looks made with the same stitch.

Come back next Friday for a new theme and another 5 projects.
