Today is Day 6 of The Bitty Blizzard Crochet Along which means we have finished the first half of the crochet along. Today's mini amigurumi isn't something that is cold itself, but something you might want when it is cold outside, a cute little mug of cocoa with a dollop of whipped cream on top.

I actually had a mug of cocoa in my very first mini amigurum crochet along, my Christmas Advent Mini Amigurumi Crochet Along, so I wanted this one to be a little bit different. The original mug was a straight sided mug and the hot chocolate had marshmallows floating in it. For this one I chose to make a mug with a curved side and instead of marshmallows it has whipped cream.

To make this mug of cocoa you will actually first make a little disc out of brown to be the chocolate, then set it aside while you start with the mug (you can't see it in the picture of pieces because it has already been attached inside the mug). A couple of rounds before finishing the mug you will place the chocolate on top and crochet through both the mug and the chocolate to add the chocolate into the mug. Another round finishes off the top of the mug. Then you just need to add the handle and the whipped cream.

You will still need a little bit of white for this one, but not as much as some of the others, just a little bit for the whipped cream. You will also need brown for the cocoa. Then you can use any color you want for the little mug, I chose a mint green for mine.

We are now halfway done with the Bitty Blizzard Mini Amigurumi Crochet Along, one more week to go. Quick reminder that there is no new pattern on Sunday, but check back Monday for the next pattern in the series.
