After I finished my last crochet along, the Bewitching Bears Crochet Along, I posted a poll on social media for you to vote on the next crochet along theme. I had 4 options for a Christmas/Winter themed crochet along, 2 were very much Christmas themed, 2 were more just winter themed. I shared the poll in a few different places to give as many people possible a chance to vote on their favorite theme. The first time I counted up the votes in order to pick the winner the top three picks were separated by one vote each, so I was worried that having people vote to choose the theme may not have been the most effective option. I decided to wait a few days and add the votes up again and that time, although they were all still close, one theme did rise to the top with more votes than the others. The theme that ended up in first place is...

Bitty Blizzard!

Well, technically it was just the Winter/Snow theme in the poll, but I wanted to come up with a better name than just winter/snow, so I decided to call it the Bitty Blizzard Mini Amigurumi Crochet Along. This crochet along will include things that are related to snow- snowmen, snow activities, things related to cold weather, anything that might be related to a cold, snowy, winter day.

Normally I do the Christmas Crochet Along in either November or early December, but I decided to switch it up a little bit this time since this theme isn't really related to Christmas. Instead of doing it before Christmas I decided to push it off until January. I decided to do this for a couple of reasons, mostly because I feel like that gives me more time to make and share some other Christmas projects during December. Also, there is usually a lot going on with holiday celebrations in December, but January is just cold without a whole lot to look forward to, so I thought moving the crochet along to January would mean something fun to do that month. I don't normally announce my crochet alongs this far in advance but since it is different than normal I wanted to put it out early. So with all of that said the Bitty Blizzard Mini Amigurumi Crochet Along will begin Monday January 5, 2026 and end on Saturday January 17, 2026. Like most of my previous crochet alongs there will 12 patterns released over two weeks on Monday-Saturday. See below for all of the details.

Everything you need to know about the Bitty Blizzard Mini Amigurumi Crochet Along:

When- The 2026 Winter Mini Amigurumi Crochet Along will begin on Monday, January 5. It will run for 2 weeks, ending on January 17. One pattern will be released each day from Monday-Saturday, with no new pattern on Sunday.

How Does it Work-  A new pattern will be released each day of the crochet along for a Mini Amigurumi that fits the theme (in this case snow and winter themed items). The pattern will be posted for free on my blog, where it will remain indefinitely, this means that you can join or start up at any time, even after the crochet along is over. I will post the link to the new pattern each day on social media, as well as at the end of this post (this will be sort of a landing page for the crochet along). Once all 12 patterns have been posted I will release an ebook that will be available for purchase on Etsy and Ravelry that will include all 12 patterns. This is a great option for anyone who wants an ad-free, printable, PDF version of the patterns with all 12 in one place, but they will still remain free on my blog on their individual posts.

What do you need- The main thing you will need for the crochet along is yarn. I always use worsted weight acrylic yarn for my mini amigurumi. Examples of yarns I use include Red Heart Super Saver, Loops & Threads Impeccable or Soft Classic, Big Twist Value Worsted, or any other similar weight yarn. This crochet along will include things related to snow and cold winter days so plan on using quite a bit of white yarn, but there will also be other colors included too, many of which can be customized to be any color you want. These are small enough that you only need a little bit of yarn which means it is great for using up yarn scraps in your stash. In addition to the yarn you will need your usual crochet supplies like a hook and yarn needle. I also use safety eyes for my mini amigurumi, but that is optional and you can embroider the eyes if you prefer. See the full list of supplies below.
