Patriotic Perler Bead Designs

With the school year ending, or already ended for some people, it is time to start thinking of activities to fill the summer. We try to limit how much screen time our kids can have in the summer and I know it won't be long in our house before we start hearing kids say that they are bored and that there is nothing to do. Mostly just as an attempt to get us to give in and let them have more screen time.

Crocheted Bee Amigurumi

Both of the schools that my kids go to happen to have bees as their mascots. Technically one school is the Yellowjackets and the other is the Bees, but they both use bees in their school spirit stuff and both have black and yellow as their school colors. With the school year coming to a close there have been lots of school activities and lots of bee stuff, so bees have been on my mind.

This week Cricut announced a new feature in Design Space, Kerning! If you are unfamiliar with what kerning is it is the process of adjusting the spacing in between letters as you type so that it looks nice. If you have tried using fonts in Design Space in the past, especially script fonts, you know that the letters were always spaced weird and needed a lot of adjusting to make them look right, which could sometimes be a little frustrating and time consuming.

Adding Iron On to a Painted Canvas

-Product for this post provided by Cricut, all ideas and opinions are my own. This post may contain affiliate links.-

I have made a lot of different types of canvases using my Cricut, including hot mess canvases and reverse canvases. For this projects I wanted to keep it a little more simple. Just putting vinyl on a canvas that I had painted. No deconstructing of the canvas or multiple layers.

Aurora Water Bottle Holder

Earlier this year I made a scarf and then later a hat using the same stitch pattern made up of rows of double crochet stitches, double crochet mesh and crossed double crochet stitches. I called the scarf the Aurora Scarf because the yarn I used changed from pink to blue, just like Aurora's dress in Sleeping Beauty. I loved the stitch pattern so much that I made the Aurora Hat pattern shortly after that.

Weed, Weld, Blank? What Do All of These Cricut Terms Mean?

-This post sponsored by Cricut, all ideas and opinions are my own. This post may contain affiliate links.-

Sometimes when you are starting a new hobby or joining a new community you hear terms that you aren't quite sure what they mean. I see it happen a lot in crafting Facebook groups where people will talk about something using a term or slang specific to that craft and other people have no idea what they are talking about and it can be confusing.

Star Wars Infusible Ink Projects

To celebrate Star Wars Day I thought it would be fun to make some Star Wars projects with my Cricut. I wanted to use Infusible Ink transfer sheets because I love to combine the galaxy prints with  Star Wars designs.

Infusible Ink Mugs with Children's Artwork

When I got my Cricut Mug Press one of the first things that I thought of doing was using it to let my kids make mugs to give to people with their drawings on them. With Infusible Ink Pens and markers it is so easy for them to draw pictures that can then be transferred onto a mug for a fun personalized design.
