It has been a long time since I have gotten posts up on my blog consistently and it has kind of gotten me in a bit of a creative funk. Life just got super busy, the end of the school year and all of the craziness that goes along with that, and then summer break started and it seemed like I was spending all of my time running kids to all of their activities, camps, and friends houses. It was one of those times when I kept thinking- I just have to get through this trip/camp/activity/event and then I will have time to get back to work on stuff, but then that thing would finish and it the next one was happening. So then it was after this is done I will get back on track, and then the next thing, or the next. I don't think I was prepared for how busy life gets with a house full of teenagers. And now here we are 2 months later with school starting back up in just a few weeks and I haven't posted a thing all summer.

It has been a while since I have posted a dishcloth pattern and the past couple of crochet patterns that I have posted have had me thinking about dishcloth patterns, because they have used stitches that I had previously used in a dishcloth. The Mossy Blocks Scarf used the same stitch pattern as the Mossy Blocks Dishcloth from last year, and the Criss Cross Confetti Hat used the same stitch pattern as my Crossed Doubles Dishcloth

It has been a while since I have shared a dishcloth pattern. I know I say this every time I do share a dishcloth pattern, but they are such a great way to try new stitches and play around with the different textures you can create with crochet. Plus, they are an easy way to add a little something handmade to a gift. Pair a dishcloth with some kitchen items, a cute dish, some kitchen utensils, etc. Or use it as a washcloth and pair it with some body care items, nice smelling soap or lotion, or something similar.

I haven't shared a dishcloth pattern for a while and I decided it was time. I have a few bigger projects coming up that I have been working on and I wanted to make something quick and easy and dishcloths seemed like the perfect thing.

Mini Blocks Dishcloth

If you have been following me for any period of time you probably know that one of my favorite ways to try out different crochet stitches, as long as they aren't too lacy or open, is to make a set of dishcloths. They are a great project all year round, anytime you want something you can make quick, but especially great this time of year for spring cleaning projects. They work up fast, and are useful too!

It has been a long time since I have posted a new dishcloth pattern. They are one of my favorite things to make. They are small and simple, work up fast, they are useful, and they are a great way to try out new stitch patterns.

Diagonal Bobbles Dishcloth

It has been quite a while since I have posted a new dishcloth/washcloth pattern, but they are one of my favorite things to crochet in the summer. They are small and quick to make, and a fun way to try out new stitches. So I thought it was time for another.

Day 5 of Dishcloth Week, the last day, the last pattern for the week. It has been fun coming up with different stitches to use for these dishcloth or washcloth patterns.

It is day 4 of Dishcloth Week, which means that tomorrow is the last day. Today's dishcloth pattern uses the Silt Stitch. This was a new stitch to me, which was great because I love trying out and learning new stitches.

Dishcloth Week- Cobble Stripe Dishcloth

It is day 3 of Dishcloth Week here on 5 Little Monsters, and today's pattern is the Cobble Stripe Dishcloth. The textured lines in this pattern create a striped effect, and it only uses 2 basic stitches.

Dishcloth Week- Off the Rails Dishcloth

Day 2 of Dishcloth Week brings the Off the Rails Dishcloth. This is a stitch I came up with for a pillow I made a few weeks ago, and as I was making it (knowing I had this week planned) I thought it would be a great texture to use for a dishcloth.

Dishcloth Week- Crossed Doubles Dishcloth

I am so excited to be kicking off another week of dishcloth and washcloth patterns. Dishcloths and/or washcloths, I use them interchangeably depending on how I plan on using the actual cloths, are a crochet project I really enjoy making for several reasons. One, they are small and quick. I am a big fan of quick finishes, I love the feeling of accomplishment when you finish a project and that comes a lot quicker with a dishcloth than it does with a blanket.

Corner to Corner Heart Square

With Valentines Day just around the corner I have had heart projects on my mind. A couple of years ago I made a large corner to corner heart design, and by large I mean it was baby blanket size, so not huge but the heart filled the entire blanket. This year as I was thinking of heart themed projects to make I thought about how versatile a small c2c heart square could be and decided to make one.

It has been a while since I posted a dishcloth pattern. Life has been a little crazy lately and I haven't been able to spend as much time crocheting as I would have liked over the last few weeks. I was starting to really crave time to do something creative, I was missing spending time working on projects.

Mossy Path Washcloth

It has been a while since I have shared a new crocheted washcloth pattern. This particular pattern I have had ready to share for a long time but other things kept coming up to push it back, other projects I wanted to share at a specific time, like Harry Potter projects last week, and Christmas in July the week before, or even just projects that were more summery than these.

Third Loop Crocheted Washcloth

I recently wanted to make a set of crocheted dishcloths as a gift and rather than using one of the patterns I have already made I decided to create a new pattern and I was really pleased with how they turned out.

22 Crocheted Washcloth Patterns

Over the past week I have shared 5 new crocheted dishcloths, or washcloths, I never know which one to call them and use them interchangeably. After sharing those 5 patterns and thinking of all of the other washcloth patterns that I have shared over time, I thought it would be nice to gather them all together in one place.

Dishcloth Week- Alpine Stitch Dishcloth

Today is the last day in a week of dishcloths. This one may be my favorite of all. I have been wanting to try this stitch for a while and, like I mentioned earlier this week, dishcloths are a great way to try out new stitches.
