Every year before Valentine's Day I like to share some printable valentine cards that can be paired with inexpensive little gifts. I always choose some small, non-food items, and try to keep them pretty cheap so that it is something affordable to get for an entire class. My goal is to keep it under $1 per item, but many times it is way cheaper than that.

Friday Five: 5 Projects to Crochet for Valentine's Day

I haven't done a Friday Five yet this year, the first Friday I think I just didn't get one up, and then last Friday I was in the middle of the Bitty Blizzard Crochet Along so I skipped that one. If you are new to my blog and aren't familiar with Friday Fives, they are a way for me to reshare some older projects. Each week, or I guess most weeks is more accurate, I will share 5 projects that all fit a specific theme. It may be a holiday, project type, craft type, a specific stitch, or something else that all of the patterns have in common. I have been blogging for more than 10 years so I have so many projects and patterns and last year I realized that there were a lot that I had completely forgotten about, but that I still love and wanted to find a way to reshare them. This week I decided that with Valentine's Day just around the corner I would share 5 crochet projects you can make for Valentine's Day.

I have one last printable Valentine card to share before Valentines Day get here in just a week. That makes 4 different cards designs/themes this year, plus several more from previous years. I was feeling like some of the stuff that I chose this year, like the bracelets and the flowers, might lean a little more towards appealing to girls so I wanted to make sure I had one that boys might be more likely to like and thinking of my 8 year old son video games seemed like the obvious answer.

Printable Flower Valentine Card

Last week I shared a couple of printable Valentine cards that can be paired with a small, inexpensive gift, or used on their own, and this week I have a couple more to squeeze in before Valentine's Day gets here. First off I have today's Valentine, then I have one more coming in a couple of days. Today's Valentine theme is "Flowers".

I wanted to make a quick crochet project that could be used for Valentine's Day and I decided I wanted to make a little pouch that could be filled with treats. I have a couple of these on my blog from previous years and I decided that this time I wanted to make something that could work for Valentine's Day, but not be only for Valentine's Day.

Valentine's Day is just around the corner so it is time for some printable Valentine cards. I have a few different cards that I have made this year, to go along with a few different themes, and this maze themed card is the first one for this year.

Small Squares Patchwork Table Runner

I have been meaning to make a share this project for quite a while but life has been busy and I just haven't been able to get as much posted as I would like. As a result this may look like kind of a weird project to be sharing on Valentine's Day, because it looks like a Valentine's project so it is a little late to be sharing. However, although I made mine with Valentine fabric it isn't really a holiday specific project and you could make it in any color scheme, for any holiday, to match your kitchen or whatever room you are using it in, or just using a charm pack that you like the colors of.

I have one last printable Valentine set to share before Valentine's Day, joining the car themed set and the dinosaur themed set. This time the item that inspired the cards was a little set of Valentine notebooks.

Valentine's Day is just around the corner so it is time to start thinking about Valentine's for kids to pass out in their classes. Each year I try to share a few printable cards that can either be used just like they are, or paired with an inexpensive, small, non-food gift. This is the second card set for this year, check out my car themed cards in my previous post.

This year I have a few different cards to share and this is the first that I am sharing this year.

I was looking for some simple Valentine's Day decor that I could use to decorate my mantle and also use as a photo prop for the Movie Quote Valentine Signs I shared yesterday. I found a felt ball garland at the store that I purchased, but when I hung it up I thought it would be fun to have a couple of garlands hanging together.

This is one of those projects that I have wanted to do for a long time, I think I first planned it around Valentine's Day a couple of years ago, then just ran out of time and never got it done. So then the next year it was on my idea list, but once again I got busy with other stuff and ran out of time to get it done. This year when I was planning out stuff that I wanted to make I was determined to get this one done so I made sure it was one of the first Valentine projects I made. And honestly, it was so quick to make I have no idea why it took me this long.

Glitter Heart Shaker Cards

I have to admit glitter is not my favorite craft supply to work with, but sometimes it is worth the potential mess. I have been wanting to make some glitter shaker cards and Valentine's Day seemed like the perfect opportunity to give it a try. I have had this project ready to share for a couple of weeks and now that it is actually Valentine's Day I am finally getting around to sharing it. Better late than never I guess.

Every year for the last few years I have tried to come up with a few non-food Valentines ideas. A set of printable cards that can be given to classmates with a little inexpensive gift that isn't candy.

Chalkboard Valentine Sign- Dollar Store Craft

-This post may contain affiliate links-

Dollar store crafts are a great way to add to your holiday decor without spending a lot of money. Their craft section has actually grown a lot over the last couple of years and you can get quite a variety of craft supplies there, as well as other items that may not be "craft supplies" but can be used in projects.
