Create Your Own Superhero Costumes

-This post sponsored by Cricut, may contain affiliate links-

Halloween is just around the corner so it is time to start thinking about costumes and DIY Halloween costumes are always fun. I like making costumes that are unique, not the same as every other kid that knocks on your door. My kids love superheroes, all superheroes, and they each have their favorites. Even though they have favorites I thought that it would be fun to come up with our own superhero and make a Create Your Own Superhero costume. We would come up with some superhero ideas, including costume colors and logos, then based on that we would create our own superhero costumes.

Superhero Day Masks

Did you know that April 28th was National Superhero Day? I had no idea until LEGO contacted me asking if I wanted a Superhero LEGO set to celebrate. Of course I said yes. Superheroes are a pretty big deal in our house so I felt like I needed to do something for Superhero Day.

Tutorial for Avengers Trick or Treat Bags including: Thor, Captain America, Black Widow

Everyone in my house loves superheroes, before I got married I don't know if I could have even told you who the Avengers were. All of that changed when I met my husband and he has made sure that our kids are all superhero fans. Everyone was excited for the new Avengers movie, MARVEL's The Avengers:Age of Ultron, to come out on Blu-Ray/DVD. My husband was the only one who had seen it in the theater and we were all looking forward to watching it.

Comic Con Outfits for Little Girls

Simple Superhero skirts and bags for little girls, perfect for comic con or any day. link to tutorial so you can make your own.

Salt Lake Comic Con is this weekend and we usually try to take the kids one of the days, usually Thursday because the crowds are typically a little smaller. Last year we bought the kids Halloween costumes easy so that they could wear them to Comic Con in September and then again for Halloween a month later. This year I decided that I wanted to do something a little different for the little girls. Rather than a costume that they would only wear a few times I decided to make them some little skirts that they could wear anytime. In fact, my youngest daughter has worn hers pretty much every day since I made them last week. She loves her Batgirl skirt that mommy made her. She is even wearing it right now as I write this. I shared the tutorial earlier this week on The Geeky Mormon.

Friday Freebies Roundup: Avengers Crafts

It has been awhile since I have done a Friday Freebies Roundup. I thought since the new Avengers Movie comes out today it would be fun to find some Avengers and Superhero themed projects to share. I have a husband and a couple of little boys who are pretty obsessed with superheroes and my girls like them quite a bit too so I could see my family having fun with all of these things.

I am going to share 9 different things that I found online, some crochet, some sewing, some painting and even a free printable game. There are a lot more ideas out there, these are just some that I thought looked fun and I tried to stick with projects that had the Avengers not just any superheroes. Some of them include other superheroes in addition to the Avengers but they at least have some of the Avengers. Click on the pictures or titles to get to the pattern or tutorial.
