The 4th of July is just around the corner so I thought it would be fun to make a patriotic pillow to decorate my living room. I had a red, white, and blue charm pack, Old Glory, that I ordered a couple of months ago from Missouri Star Quilt Co. with this project in mind when I got it.

10 Years of 5 Little Monsters- Top Posts of the Last Decade

I cannot believe it has been 10 years since I started this blog, but today is my 10 year blog anniversary. That first post 10 years ago was pretty much just a "Hi, I'm starting a blog" post, and it was a few weeks before I actually shared a project that I made, but I'm still counting it as day one.

Summer is in full swing here and life has been a bit crazy with all of the summer activities. I have not been posting as much as I had hoped to the past couple of months. Every year as the school year winds down I think that this year will be different and I will actually be organized enough to get all of the projects I have planned done and posted despite every other part of my life being super busy. And then May arrives and there are a million end of the school year activities and then summer comes and everything that comes along with that, having kids home, trips, camps, running kids to all of their activities, and I find myself realizing that it has been almost a month since I last posted and in fact this year was not different than other and I am just as behind on getting posts up as I am every other year.

Last week I shared a new scarf pattern, the Trinity Stripe Cowl, and today I have the matching hat, the Trinity Stripe Hat. Both patterns are part of the Scarf and Hat or the month put on by Oombawka Design and the Stitching Mommy. Each month they both share new hat and scarf designs, as well as having a guest designer, which this month is me!

It may seem like sort of a weird time to be posting a new hat and scarf pattern since here we are finishing up our last week of school before summer break and changing out clothes from hoodies and jeans to shorts and t-shirts. But this month I am joining Oombawka Design and the Stitching Mommy as the guest designer for their Scarf of the Month Club (and Hat of the Month Club next week).

A few years ago I made a crocheted dinosaur softie as part of a softie crochet-a-long. It was just a super generic dinosaur, not any specific kind, but after that I decided I wanted to make a whole set of dinosaurs of different kinds. It has been on my to-do/idea list for a long time now. After a couple of years I finally got around to making a Triceratops as the first variation, but I still had plans for more.
