The 4th of July is just around the corner so I thought it would be fun to make a patriotic pillow to decorate my living room. I had a red, white, and blue charm pack, Old Glory, that I ordered a couple of months ago from Missouri Star Quilt Co. with this project in mind when I got it.

Stars and Stripes Planter Box

A couple of years ago I did a post for a company and they sent me a bunch of products that I could use for that project, and one of them was a long, unfinished wood planter box. I didn't end up using the planter box in my project so ever since then it has just been sitting on my shelf waiting to be used.

Patriotic Perler Bead Designs

With the school year ending, or already ended for some people, it is time to start thinking of activities to fill the summer. We try to limit how much screen time our kids can have in the summer and I know it won't be long in our house before we start hearing kids say that they are bored and that there is nothing to do. Mostly just as an attempt to get us to give in and let them have more screen time.

Today I am once again joining Team Creative Crafts to share some fun craft projects along with several other craft bloggers. The theme of this Creative Crafts round is Patriotic Crafts.

Fireworks Treat Bags

Today I am joining in another round of Craft Lightning, this month with a Patriotic theme. When I was challenged to make a quick patriotic craft that takes 15 minutes or less I immediately thought of making something with my Cricut. Cricut crafts, and more specifically iron on crafts, are often my go to projects for quick crafts.

Crocheted Star Dishcloth

I can't believe it is already July and that the 4th is tomorrow. I thought I would share one last quick patriotic project before tomorrow, although this could easily be used other times too. I wanted something really quick so I thought a star shaped dishcloth would be the perfect project. It would also make a great trivet for setting down a hot pan at your Independence Day barbecue. I think in addition to the 4th of July or other patriotic holidays, it would also be cute for a baby washcloth or a beachy themed bathroom or kitchen. One of my favorite things about dishcloths or washcloths is that they are so quick to make.

Cricut 101: Make Your Own Designs + A Patriotic Cut File

One of the things that I love to do with my Cricut is use images, shapes, and text available in Design Space to create my own designs. You can combine them in all sorts of ways to make anything you want. Sometimes you may only want part of an image or maybe you want to add something to it. I feel like when it comes to creating your own designs some of your best friends in Design Space are the slice, weld, attach, group, and ungroup tools. Once you know how to use those tools you can create pretty much anything you want.

Moss Stitch Crochet Pillow

I am sharing a new crochet pattern over on the Fairfield World site today. I wanted to make a crochet pillow cover that would be really easy, more of a beginner friendly pattern. I also thought it would be kind of fun to use some bulky yarn. Bulky yarn is fun to work with sometimes because projects that are made with it tend to be pretty quick projects. A lot of times I think people think of bulky yarns as being used more for winter/cold weather projects like scarves and hats so I wanted to find a way to make a more summertime friendly project. I thought this pillow would be the perfect way to do that.

Patriotic Mason Jar Cover

The 4th of July is this weekend. I thought it would be fun to make something to decorate for the 4th and I have been wanting to try making a mason jar cover for a while. I thought, why not combine those two things and crochet a patriotic mason jar cover. I thought it would be a cute and festive decoration or centerpiece with some flowers inside. I made it to fit a quart size jar that I had and picked some daisies from my yard to stick in it.

Red White and Blue Crocheted Water Bottle Holder

Today I am excited to be participating in a HUGE blog hop. Nearly 100 bloggers are sharing red, white and blue projects today! Be sure to check out all of the great ideas to celebrate Independence Day this year.

4th of July Free Crochet Pattern Roundup

4th of July Free Crochet Pattern Roundup

Usually I try to get my roundup posts done on Fridays so I am a little late getting this one done. I started it on Friday if that counts. This week has been kind of crazy, it was the last week of school for my kids so summer break has officially started for us. One of the first things that comes to mind when I think of summer is the 4th of July. I have been working on a couple of 4th of July projects that I will share soon but in the meantime I thought it would be fun to share a few free crochet patterns that I found online. It is crazy to think that the 4th is less than a month away already, but that should be enough time to make some patriotic crochet projects. Here are 8 free patterns to celebrate the 4th of July, click the pictures or the titles to go to the patterns.
