Follow Your Dreams Reverse Canvas

Every month I usually participate in a craft challenge with a group of creative blogger friends. Every month we have a different theme based on a material. Some months it is really easy to think of a project using the assigned material and some months are hard. This month was one of the hard ones. I think it ended up being hard for everyone and that combined with the craziness of the end of the school year led to cancelling the challenge this month. I had already made my project and as hard as it was to decide what to do I was actually pretty happy with how it turned out. Especially since it meant trying something new, something that I had been wanting to try for a while but hadn't gotten around to.

Be-YOU-tiful Hot Mess Canvas

This month I was challenged to make something using paint. I have been seeing hot mess canvases recently in a lot of facebook craft groups that I am in and I decided to give it a try. If you are not familiar with the hot mess canvas technique let me tell you what it is. In elementary school did you ever make an art project where you would color all over a paper with different colors of crayons and then cover that with black crayon or paint. Then when you scratched the top layer of black off the rainbow of colors would show through. This is kind of a grown up version of that.

Welcome Spring

-Supplies used in this project provided by Cricut and Oriental Trading Company-

Every month I join some of my blogger friends in a craft challenge. We have a theme based on a specific supply and we each make a project using that supply. Since March is National Craft Month we decided the theme for this month would be either using up supplies that you have on hand or using a craft kit. The timing was perfect for me because I have spent this past week moving around my office/craft room and cleaning and organizing all of my craft supplies. As a result I knew exactly what I had that could be used up.

Cobble Stitch Dishcloth

Today I am again joining a group of craft blogger friends to make a project based on a specific supply or material. Last month was a little challenging for me because our material was Washi Tape which I haven't really used a lot. This month was a little different, the challenge material was yarn or fiber. I use yarn all the time so this time the challenge was more of having too many projects rather than no ideas. I ended up decided to crochet a dishcloth because it has been a while since I posted a dishcloth pattern. Plus, dishcloths are a fun way to try out new stitches. For this one I used the cobble stitch, a stitch I had never used before but that gives a really great scrubby texture to the dishcloth.

She is a Wildflower Embroidery

The first of each month I participate in a craft challenge with a group of craft bloggers. This month the theme of the challenge was "Garden". I decided that I didn't want to something actually for the garden but instead something that was flowery and reminded me of a garden. I decided on a flowery embroidery project. I wanted to try something kind of new so I combined the embroidery with a little bit of paint and I really liked the end result.

Creatively Crafty Link Party #10

It's Thursday again which means it is time again for the Creatively Crafty Link Party. I haven't gotten a whole lot posted in the past week. Last week my husband was out of town for work most of the week and then we headed out of town for a weekend getaway for our anniversary. That trip was long overdue and I didn't bring my computer or do anything blog related the whole time. It was a really nice break from everything. Now starting today I will be spending the rest of the week attending the Snap Conference here in Salt Lake. Snap is a conference for craft and DIY bloggers and I am really excited to be going. I will probably be sharing a lot on Instagram but might not around here much for the next couple of days. Anyway, back to the link party, thanks to everyone who shared projects with us last week. As usual each of us will be featuring our favorite projects that were linked up this past week. If you are featured be sure to grab the "featured on" button. Also, be sure to go check out all of the co-host's blogs since we will all be featuring different projects.

Spring Colors Scarf

The first of the month means a new Creative Craft Bloggers Challenge. Each month a group of craft bloggers that I am a part of all get together and come up with projects based on a theme. It is always fun to see what everyone does because even though we all have the same theme all of the projects end up so different. For April our theme was Spring Colors. It is interesting to have a color or group of colors as a theme because really you could make anything. My project was inspired by some yarn that had colors that reminded me of spring.

I have several new projects to get up on my blog and between sick kids, me being sick, an catching up on everything that didn't get done while people were sick I have not managed to get a new blog post up this week. Hopefully this next week will be more productive for me and I can share some of the things I have ready. Anyway, back to the link party. Scrapbook Paper Covered Letter

It is the first of the month again which means it is time for another Creative Craft Bloggers Challenge. This month the theme of our challenge was scrapbook paper. That was an interesting challenge for me simply because I do not do a lot of paper crafts. My project isn't anything that hasn't been done before but it was something that I had been wanting to make and this was a perfect opportunity to make it.
