I have a little girl who is obsessed with Unicorns, and I think just about every little girl in her class at school is just as obsessed as she is. When I saw Unicorn Magic Snack Pack Pudding Cups at Walmart I knew she would love them as a treat. They will be especially fun with school starting soon for an after school snack. And to go along with the special unicorn puddings I made her a cute unicorn headband to wear.

I think the little felted wool balls can be so cute for different projects but I have never tried making them. So, when I got the chance to review a sample box of wool roving from Kraemer Yarns I was really excited to try it out.

Last year around Christmas time I made some owl ornaments and I loved the way they turned out. I ended up making quite a few of them to give away and to sell. They were cute and colorful and fun. I thought it might be neat to alter that pattern slightly to make a smaller owl that could be made into a keychain.

Crocheted Phone or Tablet Stand

Yesterday I shared a new pattern over on the Fairfield World Site and I thought I should share it here too. This time of year is all about Dad's and Grad's, men and teenagers/young adults, probably the two hardest groups to make handmade gifts for. I have no problem at all coming up with gift ideas that I can make or new babies, little kids are pretty easy too. Feminine gifts are also easier come up with but something handmade and at all masculine is a little bit more difficult. I wanted to try to come up with a gift idea that could work for either of those groups, either as a Father's Day gift or as a gift for a recent grad. One thing that it seems like those two groups have in common is their love for  technology. I have seen some pillow type stands that can be used for propping up phones, tablets, or e-readers and thought maybe that would be a fun project. Not too long ago I featured a knitted version in a link party, a little different style but similar idea, and I have seen other knitted versions as well as sewn versions. This is my crocheted version.

DIY Embroidered Espadrilles

This past month I have had such a hard time keeping up with blogging, I think partially this pregnancy has just taken a lot out of me, then you throw in the end of the school year with everything the kids have going on, it has just been a crazy few weeks. Hopefully I can get back in a good routine and get back to posting more regularly but going into summer with all of the kids home and 2 months left of this pregnancy, I'm not making any promises. I actually have lots of projects to post about, some that are already finished and some that I am working on, it is just getting them written up that I have been having a hard time with. Today I am sharing a project that I have been meaning to do for a while and finally got done. I made a pair of shoes for my daughter. That probably seems like kind of a strange thing to make but it was actually really easy.

Seafoam Circle Scarf

Over the last couple of months I have made several scarves/cowls that I have been meaning to post patterns for and I just haven't had time to do it. I am finally getting around to posting one today. Part of the reason it has taken me so long is because I wanted a picture of someone wearing it and didn't want to take a picture of myself. Finally I just broke down and took the picture so that could get the post up.

Kids Crafts with Cool Brands

Lately I have been thinking a lot about how important it is for kids to have opportunities to be creative. I have a 7 year old daughter who loves to make things with me. I try to find projects for her that she can do, she has done a few simple sewing projects, some embroidery, and lots of paper and felt crafts. I make a lot of stuff with yarn, usually crocheting, but for some reason I haven't attempted to teach her that yet. I just worry that she isn't quite ready, or maybe that I just won't have the patience to help her.
