Often making one project ends up being the thing that inspires another project. Sometimes it is something like making a stuffed animal and thinking about how I could change something simple like the ear shape to turn it into another animal. Other times it is something like is the case with this project where the stitch pattern that I use in a project makes me want to try it in another project.

The Chiefs are my husbands favorite football team, so when we found out they would be going to the Super Bowl he was pretty excited. A day or two later I was shopping at Walmart and I passed a display of blanket yarn on an end cap, and a couple of colors popped out at me and I immediately knew I wanted to make a blanket for my husband.

I have been wanting to make a blanket with Red Heart Super Saver Retro Stripes for a long time, but it has been impossible to find anywhere. When I saw that JOANN had some in stock a month or so ago I ordered some right away. I was so excited to turn it into a cute rainbow baby blanket. Plus I was hoping to have enough left over to make a hat for my rainbow and unicorn loving 9 year old, because the colors totally remind me of her.

Corner to Corner Heart Square

With Valentines Day just around the corner I have had heart projects on my mind. A couple of years ago I made a large corner to corner heart design, and by large I mean it was baby blanket size, so not huge but the heart filled the entire blanket. This year as I was thinking of heart themed projects to make I thought about how versatile a small c2c heart square could be and decided to make one.

Ever since I was a little kid I have loved maps and globes. I remember getting a globe for Christmas one year when I was probably 6 or 7 years old and it was one of my favorite gifts ever and I had it for a really long time.

Corner to corner to corner crochet is a really neat way to make graph designs in crochet. It can seem a  little tricky at first but once you get the hang of it it is really quick and easy. I have seen some pretty amazing graphs that people have crocheted but this project is made with a pretty simple design and only 2 colors.
