Fabric Covered Cork Board with Felt Flower

-Products used in this project provided by Darice, Cricut, and Plaid-

Do you ever have projects that you start and then set aside and it takes months before you actually get around to finishing the project? Then when you finally get around to finishing the end project is completely different than the idea you actually started with? This project is one of those for me, but now that I have actually finished it I really like the way it turned out.

I was playing around with my Cricut the other day and made a little wall hanging for Thanksgiving and I thought I would share it here as a quick project idea. One night last week I got the kids in bed and was waiting for my husband to get home from work. I probably should have been working on writing up blog posts or cleaning my house but it was one of those days that I just wanted to make something. Not necessarily work on a project that I needed to do for some reason, but just sit down and play around with my craft stuff, just to be creative for no other reason than because I like to. This little banner was the result of that late night crafting session.

Painted Pumpkin with Crocheted Flowers

-This post sponsored by Darice-

I recently shared another post on the Darice blog, Live Craft Love, this time a quick fall project. All you need is a wooded pumkin cutout, some paint, and some crocheted flowers in fall colors. The flowers add a fun decorative touch to a simple wooden shape.

Felt Flowers with the Cricut Maker

A little over a month ago I had the awesome opportunity to attend the Cricut Mountain Make-a-Thon, held here in Salt Lake, where they unveiled the new Cricut Maker. That week we attended classes where we were shown the new machine and the things that it could do as well as having the opportunity to try it out and make some projects of our own. I was really excited to see the new blades, the rotary blade and the knife blade (the knife blade will not be available for another month or so). The tiny little rotary blade cut through fabric so smoothly and perfectly. I immediately started thinking about all of the things I could cut more easily with that little blade. A couple of weeks ago a new Maker showed up on my doorstep and I couldn't wait to use it.

Crocheted Flower Wreath

-This project sponsored by Darice-

Crocheted flowers are really quick to make and can be used for so many different things. You can use them as embellishments on other crochet projects like hats and blankets, you can turn them into hair clips, magnets, pins, etc. There are also lots of different ways to make them, rolled, 5 petal, 6 petal, rounded petals, pointy petals, two layers of petals, the list goes on and on. I thought it would be kind of fun to make a wreath out of crocheted flowers and to use several different styles of flowers to make the wreath.
