Squishy Bunny

Last year at Easter time I made a Squishy Chick inspired by the little Squishmallows that my daughter was obsessed with, and this year I decided to make a matching Squishy Bunny.

February and March have been super busy months for me personally, lots of family stuff going on including a lot of medical stuff, and because my focus has needed to be taking care of those things I feel like I have not gotten as many Easter projects up as I planned. It doesn't help that Easter is on the earlier end of where it can fall this year. So here we are a week and a half before Easter and I have a few more projects done that I want to squeeze in before Easter.

It is time for the first Mini Amigurumi Crochet Along of the year, the Spring 2024 Mini Amiguurmi Crochet Along. If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook then you may remember that a few months ago I put out a post with 4 options for you to vote on to choose the theme of this spring crochet along. I tallied up all of the vote from all of the posts and although it was really close there was definitely a winner.  The theme for this year's spring crochet along is...

I know technically spring doesn't start for a few more days, but as far as I am concerned once March hits it is spring. At that point I am done with with the cold, snowy weather and ready for things to start turning green again. It never works out quite that way, but that doesn't stop me from hoping.

Over the past few months I have been making some table runners in different colors, for different seasons and holidays. It started when I made a reversible fall/halloween table runner and then decided that I would like to have some more to decorate my table throughout the year.

A couple days ago I shared the rainbow felt ball garland that I made for St. Patricks Day decor, but I like to hang a couple of garlands together to give a kind of layered effect. Plus I wanted something that was green to go along with the rainbow to make it more St. Patrick's Day-ish.

I have not always been a huge holiday decorator. We always decorate a lot for for Christmas, and some for fall/Halloween, but I haven't always done much for other holidays like Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day. Then at the beginning of this year I was working on some Valentine projects and I decided I wanted to get and/or make some stuff to decorate my mantle because I wanted to be able to stage some pictures of the projects I was working on.

Today is going to be the final day of the Book Inspired Craft Week. I had originally planned to do 6 books, Monday-Saturday, even though last year I only did 5. I had a hard time narrowing it down to only 5 books, for that matter I had a hard time narrowing it down to only 6. I am already starting a list for next year. When I planned this year I didn't realize until it got closer that I had planned it for the same week one of my kids was having surgery. I tried to have as much as possible finished and scheduled ahead of time so I didn't have to worry about it while we were in the hospital and even at home when I was trying to focus on taking care of him.  I didn't quite get everything done ahead that I had hoped, so with as busy as this week has been at home I just decided to cut one of the projects and stick with 5 like last year.
