Summer is in full swing here and life has been a bit crazy with all of the summer activities. I have not been posting as much as I had hoped to the past couple of months. Every year as the school year winds down I think that this year will be different and I will actually be organized enough to get all of the projects I have planned done and posted despite every other part of my life being super busy. And then May arrives and there are a million end of the school year activities and then summer comes and everything that comes along with that, having kids home, trips, camps, running kids to all of their activities, and I find myself realizing that it has been almost a month since I last posted and in fact this year was not different than other and I am just as behind on getting posts up as I am every other year.

It is Day 3 of my Book Inspired Craft Week. When I am trying to decided on books to include I try to think of books that have some significance to me or someone in my family. Books I loved as a kid, books I read to my kids when they were little, books that my kids have loved as they have gotten older, etc. The book I chose for today kind of fits in a couple of those areas.

Library Read. Return. Repeat. Tote Bag

A few weeks ago I was at Micheal's and I saw some canvas tote bags with colored bottoms and I picked up a couple. I shared a summer tote bag that I made a few posts ago, but today I am going to share what I did with the second one.

Yesterday Cricut announced a few new products that they just released and I was lucky enough to get to try them out ahead of time, so I have a few projects planned over the next few days to share using the new products. Since today is Mario Day (MAR10) I thought it would be fun to share a video game themed craft using a couple of the new iron on products.

Shirts for Readers with Cricut Iron On

I have always loved reading, especially when I was a kid. I frequently stayed up way too late at night because I just had to finish the book I was reading. I have a couple of kids that are pretty big readers, especially my oldest and youngest daughters, and it makes me so happy. My oldest daughter stopped by her school library on a daily basis last year to check out books. At the end of the school year she asked the librarian how many books she had checked out that school year and it was over 200! And she hasn't slowed down this school year either. She usually has more than one book that she is reading at a time, which I don't understand at all because I can only handle one book at a time. The table by her bed always has a stack of books on it.

Dumbledore's Army T-Shirt

Today is the last of the Harry Potter projects I will be sharing this month, of course it also happens to be the last day of the month. This time a Cricut project, a design that I used to make a t-shirt, but you could use it for anything you want.

Every year when the kids get out of school I think I have a great plan for how to transition to having them home all day, while keeping a good routine, and continuing to stay on track with my blog, and every year it doesn't really work out that way. This summer has started off crazy and sometimes when that happens my blog work is the first thing to get set aside.

Notebooks with Iron On Designs

Iron on is probably my favorite material to use with my Cricut. Most of the time I use it to make things like shirts, bags, and other fabric items. But, you can actually use iron on on a lot of different types of surfaces besides fabric, like wood, paper, cardstock, cork, and more.

Easter is only a few days away, but I thought I would share one last Easter project. These little bunny treat bags turned out so cute.

It is that time of year when everyone is setting goals and making resolutions. I love this time of year because I enjoy both reflecting back on the past year, and also setting goals for what I would like to accomplish over the new year.

Kind is Cool Tote Bag

A couple of weeks ago I went to Micheals, not really intending to buy anything, just to look around and waste some time while my husband got a haircut next door. But it turned out they were having a big clearance sale and I ended up leaving with a big bag full of stuff. Mostly kid craft kits that I got for my kids to use, but I also grabbed a few other things. One of those things was this rope handled tote bag.

When I got the invitation to join the latest edition of Creative Crafts I immediately signed up, without hesitation. It is time again for some Harry Potter crafts, which I always have a fun time making. Last year for the Creative Crafts: Harry Potter Edition I made a crocheted Hedwig, which I absolutely loved, and I was excited to make another Harry Potter project.

Grilling Aprons for Dad

Father's Day is just around the corner and it is time to start thinking about gifts for dads. My husband, like a lot of men, has been doing a lot of grilling as the weather has warmed up so I thought it would be fun to make something for Father's Day that had a grilling theme.

Adding Iron On to a Painted Canvas

-Product for this post provided by Cricut, all ideas and opinions are my own. This post may contain affiliate links.-

I have made a lot of different types of canvases using my Cricut, including hot mess canvases and reverse canvases. For this projects I wanted to keep it a little more simple. Just putting vinyl on a canvas that I had painted. No deconstructing of the canvas or multiple layers.

Baptism Face Masks

My family and I are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and in our church, for those who are not familiar, children are baptized at 8 years old. One of my girls is turning 8 next month and is excitedly preparing for her baptism.

Crochet Project Bag Iron On Designs

I don't know about you, but I am never working on just one project. I always have multiple projects going at once. Sometimes it makes sense, like one of them is big or has a bunch of little pieces so I really only work on it at home, and another is a small project that I take with me to work on in the car in the school pickup line or other places I will be waiting. But plenty of other times the only reason is because in the middle of one project I get an idea that I just can't wait to try out so I start something new before I finish what I am working on, or I just get bored with a big project and have to break it up with something small.

Rainbow Unicorn Infusible Ink Shirts

As we were getting ready to send kids back to school a couple of weeks ago I decided kind of last minute to make a couple of new shirts for some of my kids. I had some fun rainbow colored Infusible Ink transfer sheets that I thought would be perfect for my rainbow, unicorn loving 8 year old.

A couple of weeks ago I shared the tie-died onesies that we made with the dye we had leftover after tie-dying face masks, so today I am sharing what we did to them next.

Floral Deathly Hallows

Surprise! It is another Harry Potter project! This one is a design that I drew, uploaded to Design Space and turned into a cute little zipper bag and reverse canvas. It is so fun to take a project from idea to finished product and this one went a totally different direction than I had originally planned.
