Quick and Easy Trick or Treat Bags

-This post sponsored by Oriental Trading Company. I was sent product to review, all ideas and opinions are my own-

It is crazy to think that Halloween is only a week away. I figured it is probably time to start getting ready for trick or treating. Getting ready for trick or treating when you have a house full of kids means not only getting candy or treats to hand out to trick or treaters but also making sure your kids have costumes and bags and are ready to go trick or treating. Most years I make trick or treat bags for my kids, usually trying to match their costumes but this year life has just seemed so crazy that I wasn't really sure what I was going to do. Then I had the opportunity come up to partner with Oriental Trading Company for a post and I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

4th of July Free Crochet Pattern Roundup

4th of July Free Crochet Pattern Roundup

Usually I try to get my roundup posts done on Fridays so I am a little late getting this one done. I started it on Friday if that counts. This week has been kind of crazy, it was the last week of school for my kids so summer break has officially started for us. One of the first things that comes to mind when I think of summer is the 4th of July. I have been working on a couple of 4th of July projects that I will share soon but in the meantime I thought it would be fun to share a few free crochet patterns that I found online. It is crazy to think that the 4th is less than a month away already, but that should be enough time to make some patriotic crochet projects. Here are 8 free patterns to celebrate the 4th of July, click the pictures or the titles to go to the patterns.

Friday Freebies Roundup: Avengers Crafts

It has been awhile since I have done a Friday Freebies Roundup. I thought since the new Avengers Movie comes out today it would be fun to find some Avengers and Superhero themed projects to share. I have a husband and a couple of little boys who are pretty obsessed with superheroes and my girls like them quite a bit too so I could see my family having fun with all of these things.

I am going to share 9 different things that I found online, some crochet, some sewing, some painting and even a free printable game. There are a lot more ideas out there, these are just some that I thought looked fun and I tried to stick with projects that had the Avengers not just any superheroes. Some of them include other superheroes in addition to the Avengers but they at least have some of the Avengers. Click on the pictures or titles to get to the pattern or tutorial.

Friday Freebies Roundup Spring Cleaning Edition: 10 Free Crocheted Dishcloth & Scrubbie Patterns

Since today is the first day of spring I wanted to do something spring-related for today's roundup. I decided to go with a spring cleaning theme. I like to use crocheted dishcloths for cleaning, they are great for washing dishes as well as wiping things down and cleaning up little messes. Back at the end of January/ beginning of February I shared four Valentine's dishcloth patterns. Some of those could easily be done in different colors to make them less valentine-y and they could work for any time of year. The v-stitch one could easily be done in any three colors for any holiday or to match your kitchen.

Friday Freebies Roundup: 10 Easy Sewing Projects for Kids

A few days ago my daughter asked me if I could teach her to sew something. I have to admit it made me pretty happy to hear her say that, even if it was really just her way of trying to get out of doing her homework. I told her I would think of some ideas and she could pick something she wanted to make. I already had some ideas of the kind of things that I want to start her out with but that gave me the idea to see what I could find online for simple sewing projects to make with kids. So, today's free pattern roundup is some simple, beginner type sewing projects that I thought might be good projects to make with your child who is learning to sew. All of these are machine sewing tutorials that are either intended for kids or beginners or they are simple enough that I thought they could be easily adapted to use with kids. I think that we will start with a little bit of hand sewing first and then work our way up to using the machine. If you are trying to think of some beginner projects to teach your child to sew or maybe even to learn yourself you should check out these tutorials. Friday Freebies Roundup: 10 Free Embroidery Patterns

One thing that I really enjoy looking at on other craft blogs that I read are the free pattern roundups that so many blogs do. I have been thinking for awhile about starting one on my blog and today I am finally doing it. I plan to post a roundup of 10 free patterns occasionally on Fridays. I am calling it Friday Freebies and I hope to share free patterns that I find for a variety of different crafts, sewing, crochet, embroidery, knitting, free printables, etc. Because I just shared a free embroidery pattern earlier this week I decided to start by sharing some free embroidery patterns that I found. So without further ado here are the patterns. You can click on the title or the picture to go to the websites where you can find the patterns.
