A couple of months ago I went to Micheals and saw that they had some new Caron Cakes, both new types and new colors. I try not to buy yarn without a specific project in mind because I have plenty of yarn I need to use up, but I decided to pick up a few of the new Caron Cakes. I used one in kind of bright pastel rainbow colors around Easter time to make a colorful bunny, but another of the cakes that I picked up was this Sweetie Cakes.

The 4th of July is just around the corner so I thought it would be fun to make a patriotic pillow to decorate my living room. I had a red, white, and blue charm pack, Old Glory, that I ordered a couple of months ago from Missouri Star Quilt Co. with this project in mind when I got it.

Normally I am not super into Halloween, especially decorations. I don't love gory or scary stuff, so Halloween was never my favorite holiday. At least beyond dressing up kids to go trick or treating. But for some reason this year I have been more into Halloween decor. Maybe it is because the time I spent making all my little Halloween amigurumi but me in more of a Halloween mood. Whatever the reason, I have been enjoying making some Halloween projects lately.

Summer Squares Patchwork Pillow

When I am making a sewing or quilting project I typically lean towards prints, but lately I have been seeing lots of beautiful quilt blocks made with colorful solids and I have been wanting to make something with bright colored solids. So when Missouri Star Quilt Company reached out and asked me if I wanted to make something using a selection of solids I jumped on the opportunity.

This is Day 2 of my week of book inspired crafts. Yesterday I started with a picture book I like when I was really little, so for today I am moving up to a few year later to a book, or rather a series, that was one of my favorites when I was elementary school age. The book/series I have chosen for today is the Little House on the Prairie series.

Easy DIY Travel Pillow

I know I have been sharing lots of Disney posts lately, but I have a couple more to share. Although this one is less "Disney" and more just a travel project. We just got back from our family trip to Disneyland and we drove so we were in the car for a long time. Since we were spending so much time in the car I wanted everyone to bring stuff to be comfortable, and hopefully sleep a little, but we also won't have space for a lot of big stuff.

Today I am super excited to be joining a bunch of bloggers for a holiday themed pillow party. We were all sent 20 inch pillow inserts from Fairfield World and challenged to make a Christmas or Winter Holiday themed pillow with it.

Burly Spun Bolster Pillow

-Product for this post provided by Brown Sheep Company-

Although worsted weight yarn is kind of my go-to yarn, it is always kind of fun to work with thicker yarn. Projects work up much quicker than thinner yarns, and they are nice and thick and cozy. For today's project I was sent some bulky Burly Spun yarn from Brown Sheep Company.

ASL Christmas Crafts

-This post sponsored by Cricut-

About a month ago I shared a collection of t-shirts that I made that had words fingerspelled in American Sign Language. I shared a little bit about how we use ASL in our home as 3 of our 6 kids are deaf. I was kind of surprised by the numbers people who commented on how excited they were by the designs because they too were deaf, or someone in their family was, or a close friend, or they were an interpreter, or someone in their family was, or they had some other personal connection to sign language. It was really fun to find that connection and community. But even if you don't have as personal of a connection to ASL it is still a neat language to learn and you never know when you may be able to use it.

Black and White Outdoor Pillow Set

The pillows are made for outdoor use so they are perfect for summer. They use Weather Soft Pillow Inserts, and Bernat Maker Outdoor Yarn that is available at Joann.

Christmas in July: 20+ Free Christmas Crochet Patterns

I know July seems like it is way too early to be thinking about Christmas but I feel like whether it is decor or gifts, if I don't get an early start it doesn't get done. Every year it seems like in November I start thinking of all of the projects I want to make and then between my long list of projects and all of the parties and busyness of the season I end up working on them up to the last minute and still end up only finishing half of the things on my list. Plus some things you want to have ready before Christmas, like advent calendars and decorations, so you can put them out at the beginning of the season. In this post I am going to share some of my favorite 5 Little Monsters Christmas Crochet Patterns.

Vintage Camper Pillow

-This post may contain affiliate links-

In my family growing up family vacations in the summer usually meant camping. I have spent most of my life in the western United States, mostly in Utah and Idaho, where there are mountains and beautiful areas to camp. One year we all saved up our money to buy a camper so we could take that camping with us. I have lots of good memories of taking that camper places with my family. Then when we got the LEGO set I shared in my last post it made me think of that and I decided I wanted to crochet a camper.

Spring Tulips Pillow

-Product and compensation for this project provided by Fairfield World. All ideas and opinions are my own.-

The tulip stitch is a unique stitch that when worked in certain colors looks like rows of tulips. It is a perfect  crochet stitch for springtime.

Initial Pillows with Cricut Patterned Iron On

-This project sponsored by Cricut, this post contains affiliate links-

We recently moved our girls to a new bedroom so when I had the opportunity to make something with Cricut's new Patterned Iron On I knew I wanted to make something for their room. I decided to make each of them a pillowcase with their initial in a pretty frame.

Macaron Cushion

-Product and compensation for this post provided by Fairfield World-

My oldest daughter has wanted to be a baker since she was really little. She used to want to be a cupcake baker until she discovered her love of France. Ever since then her dream has been to have a French bakery someday where she wants to make macarons, tarts, and other pastries and treats. I don't think she has ever actually tried a macaron but she gets excited every time she sees one so I thought it would be fun to make a giant crocheted version for her.
