July 1st means it is time for the next Bear of the Month. In the United States I feel like the month of July is immediately associated with the 4th of July, so I felt like I had to do a bear that was in some way related to the 4th of July or the USA in some way. The bear I ended up making is the Little Liberty Bear.

Today is Day 7 of the Summer Cookout Mini Amigururmi Crochet Along, the start of the second half of the crochet along. For today's mini amigurumi I wanted to make another dessert, and I thought I knew what I was going to make up until I was ready to start, and then I decided it just wasn't quite the right fit. A couple days ago was Groundhog's Day and apparently Punxsutawney Phil says we will have 6 more weeks of winter, but here in Utah it feels like winter hasn't even started yet so it doesn't feel very likely here. Since it hasn't felt like winter I feel like I have had a hard time getting excited about making winter stuff. It is February 1st, which means it is time for the 2nd Bear of the Month. The Bear of the Month Crochet Along is a year long crochet along that I am doing this year where each month, on the first of the month I will be releasing a new little bear crochet pattern. Friday Five: 5 Projects to Crochet for Valentine's Day

 

I haven't done a Friday Five yet this year, the first Friday I think I just didn't get one up, and then last Friday I was in the middle of the Bitty Blizzard Crochet Along so I skipped that one. If you are new to my blog and aren't familiar with Friday Fives, they are a way for me to reshare some older projects. Each week, or I guess most weeks is more accurate, I will share 5 projects that all fit a specific theme. It may be a holiday, project type, craft type, a specific stitch, or something else that all of the patterns have in common. I have been blogging for more than 10 years so I have so many projects and patterns and last year I realized that there were a lot that I had completely forgotten about, but that I still love and wanted to find a way to reshare them.
