Halloween is only a couple of days away but I am squeezing in one last Halloween project before it gets here. I have been meaning to post this project for a while, but it just kept getting pushed aside for other things I was working on and now I am almost out of time and getting it in just under the wire.

The idea for this project was inspired by ghost costumes made out of white sheets, but I thought maybe it would be fun if instead of white sheets, they were colorful printed sheets. So I had this idea and when I saw some little wooden ghost cutouts at Micheal's I thought I could pair them with printed papers to make colorful little ghosts.

I used a paper from a fall themed paper pad, but it had kind of a muted pink, orange, and brown palette, so a little different than traditional Halloween colors. I mostly chose prints that had either white backgrounds or a good percentage of white, although I did include one that was a pink floral print.

I painted the little ghosts white around the edges to start, I actually used kind of a creamy color and I wish I would have gone with more of a true white. Then I cut the ghost shapes out of the different papers and used Mod Podge to stick the papers to the front of the ghosts. Last I used black paint to add little faces to each ghost.

Even though it has taken me a long time to post these, they took very little time to make. The only part that took long is the dry time between painting the edges, mod podging on the paper, and painting the faces. But the actual time working on it was a few minutes for each step.

I thought they turned out fun, and a little bit different than the usual ghost decorations. I think they would also be cute in a variety of mini flower papers, or black and white designs, or even just white papers with different colors of stripes or dots or other simple designs. I can't decide if my favorites are the little floral prints, or the gingham and check prints. Although the little quilt design is also pretty cute.
