Top 20 Projects of 2025
At the end of every year one of my favorite things is to put together a post of my top projects of the year. It is a fun way for me to look back at the things that I have made throughout the year. I only include actual pattern or project posts on the list, not announcements or roundup posts. So all of the things on the list are projects that I made and shared this year.
Friday Five: 5 Hats to Make with Variegated Yarn
This fall/winter season has been unusually warm where I live so I haven't had many opportunities to pull out hats and scarves and all of the other winter gear, but it is that time of year. Crocheted hats are probably my favorite wearable to crochet, so I have quite a few hat patterns on my blog. I will probably share a lot of different hats in my Friday Five roundups over the next couple of months, but today I thought I would focus specifically on hat patterns that work well with variegated yarn.

My last crochet along was the Bewitching Bears Crochet Along which included 6 little Halloween Bears. Since then I have also announced the Bitty Blizzard Crochet Along that will be starting in a couple of weeks, but I also have another crochet along announcement to make that starts soon! This one is a little different than the others I have done, and it was inspired by the Bewitching Bears Crochet Along. So without further ado let me tell you about the...
Friday Five: 5 Crocheted Christmas Ornaments
It is Friday again, which means time for another Friday Five. Since Christmas is less than a week away this will be the last Friday Five that will be Christmas themed. I had actually planned this theme for last week but I ended up getting sick and not getting the post up, but I think it is actually a really good last minute Christmas theme since they are all small projects that don't require a lot of time to make. The theme for the final Christmas themed Friday Five is Crocheted Christmas Ornaments.

I have made some crocheted iced gingerbread ornaments, and some Cricut felt and iron on gingerbread ornaments so I figured it was time to make some painted wooden gingerbread ornaments.

I recently shared a pattern for some crocheted ornaments that fit over a Christmas ball ornament. I had gotten a big box of the ornaments and after I made the last ones, using the trinity stitch, I had several ideas for other ornaments that I could make using different stitches. I decided to make a second set with a different stitch. Since Christmas is coming up fast I probably won't make anymore for this year, but there are more stitch designs I want to try so there will likely be more next year.
Friday Five: 5 Christmas Decor Projects
Today is Friday, which means it is time for another Friday Five. This is one of those times that I kind of regret doing the Friday Five theme with only 5 projects, because I have way more than 5 projects that fit in this theme and it was really hard to choose which ones to include on this list. I wished I could either add more than 5 to the list or have more weeks until Christmas so I could break it into multiple weeks either by craft or by project type, but Christmas will be here in just a few week and I don't have time for that.
