12 Days of Crocheted Stocking Stuffers

DAY 12

Day 12, the last day. 12 days of quick and easy small crochet projects, I hope over the past 12 days you have found some ideas you can use. Whether it be for gifts, stocking stuffers, craft fairs, or whatever else you may use them for. It has been kind of fun to make lots of small projects that were quick finishes and that I could make with yarn I had in my stash.

Today's project is less of a completely handmade project, more a way of wrapping something that you buy. Gift cards are an easy gift and one that most people love getting. They are also great stocking stuffers, but they can look a little boring. Dress it up a little with a crocheted gift card holder.

I used the same simple pattern to make a solid color version, as well as a couple of striped variations. You can add a button loop, or leave it open at the top

while working the last round, work sc all the way around to the back and when you reach the center of the back, ch 10, sl st to the first ch, finish sc around in the last stitches

sew a button on the front

To make the 2 color stripes (red and white version)

work rows 1-3 in main color, alternate colors in rounds 4-10, finish rounds 11-13 with main color

To make the thicker stripe version (green)

work rows 1-3 in the main color, instead of working round 4 in the moss stitch (sc, ch 1) work 1 more round of sc (or work the first round of moss stitch in the main color), work rounds 5-6 in second color, work rounds 7-8 in third color, work rounds 9-10 in second color, work rounds 11-13 in main color
