We are almost to the end of the Pond Pals Mini Amigurumi Crochet Along, we are already to Day 10, only two more days to go after today. Day 10 is another little bird, the last bird of the set, this time a little Bitty Bluebird.

I knew I wanted to include another bird in addition to the hummingbird and duck, but I had kind of a hard time deciding what kind of bird I wanted to make. I wanted to do something that would be easy to make look at least somewhat identifiable and I ended up landing on a bluebird. Just by making it the color blue it makes you think bluebird, but it is also a generic enough bird shape that you could change the color to turn it into a different bird. Brown with a red belly for a robin, or a white belly for a sparrow, or I'm sure there are lots of other combinations you could make.

I wanted my little bluebird to look like it was tweeting so I made 2 little triangles for the beak and sewed them on so they looked like an open beak, but you could easily just use one triangle for a little beak.

The Bitty Bluebird is made similar to the other birds, with the same body style. I didn't include the tail in the picture but I made the same sort of tail that I made for the duck, which is just kind of my usual bird tail to get the shape of the body. The wings and belly are also the same as the other birds.

The finished bluebird is a little under 4 inches tall, and joins the Dragonfly, Ant, Hummingbird, Worm, Turtle, Bee, Mallard, Butterfly, and Frog. Only two more to go!
