Today we start the second week of the Pond Pals Mini Amigurumi Crochet Along. It is Day 7 of the 12 days of the crochet along. Today is also the second bird of the series, a Mini Mallard.

I feel like I am kind of cheating a little bit with this one because it is not the first duck I have made for one of these crochet alongs. I made a little duck as part of the Farm Animal Crochet Along last spring, and this one is made pretty much the same, just different colors.

For the farm animal version of the duck I made a little white duck. When I was making that duck I thought it would be really cute to make it a little Mallard Duck with a green head, but I felt like those weren't necessarily the ducks you would see on a farm, so I went with a white duck instead. But now with the Pond Pals theme, I felt like this time the Mallard was a perfect fit.

The Mini Mallard has a little brown body with a green head and a white band around its neck. It is made using the same body style as many of my mini amigurumi, including the hummingbird from earlier in this series.

The finished mallard is about 4 inches tall, and joins the Dragonfly, Ant, Hummingbird, Worm, Turtle, and Bee. Five more animals to go.
